Xiaomi is about to launch a smartphone with a 144 MP camera

Xiaomi is considered one of the few smartphone companies that still follows the trend of high-resolution cameras
In early 2019, Xiaomi pioneered a 48 MP image sensor on the Redmi Note 7. Soon after, Xiaomi continued to launch the Redmi Note 8 Pro with a 64 MP camera and even 108 MP on the Mi Note 10. Now , Xiaomi is about to launch a smartphone with a 144 MP camera.

Specifically, a Twitter account named Sudhanshu said Xiaomi is developing a device with a 144 MP camera. It is likely that the Chinese company will partner with Samsung to commercialize this sensor. Earlier, the 108 MP sensor on the Mi 10 series was also provided by Samsung.
The source predicts that the smartphone that Xiaomi is developing may be Mi 10S Pro, an upgraded version of Mi 10 Pro launched not too long ago.
The race for "dots" on smartphones is thought to have died out a few years ago after the launch of the Nokia Lumia 1020. But when Sony announced the 48 MP IMX586 image sensor, Samsung immediately joined and once again aroused the trend of high-resolution camera.
In the market, only Xiaomi is interested in joining this trend when continuously releasing products with large sensors. However, resolution is not the only factor that enhances image quality, but also depends on the sensor size as well as the accompanying algorithms for image optimization.
