AI has detected three dangerous signs in people with Covid-19

Looking at 85 deaths from Covid-19 in Wuhan, the researchers found three signs of an increased risk of patient complications.

In this context, medical experts try to find a treatment by reviewing the corona virus deaths. Recently, a study using artificial intelligence has found 3 signs that increase the risk of patients with complications and need mechanical ventilation.

Scientists from the US and China have also jointly analyzed groups of patients who have died, looking for similarities between these cases, BGR said.

The study was published in the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Care Medicine, entitled "Clinical Characteristics of 85 Covid-19 Deaths in Wuhan".

The researchers looked at the electronic medical records of 85 deaths at two hospitals in Wuhan - the Covid-19 epidemic a few months ago. They studied the disease history, corona virus infection, chronic diseases, symptom analysis, laboratory results, CT readings and clinical progress of these patients.

From there, the team made findings that can help doctors adjust the regimen, prioritizing treatment resources in the future.

They concluded that the highest mortality rate belongs to the group of men over 50 years old, suffering from other chronic diseases such as high blood pressure, diabetes, coronary heart disease ... Common symptoms are fever, shortness of breath, fatigue. Complications include respiratory failure, shock, acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), and cardiac arrhythmia.

They also have abnormal blood test results such as eosinophilia - a poor prognosis. The number of eosinophils sharply decreases in patients with serious respiratory infections. Early onset dyspnea is also a common symptom of death.

Doctors in Wuhan treat patients with a combination of drugs, including antibiotics, antiviral drugs, and glucocorticoids. Some people get immunoglobulin or interferon alpha-2b.

Medical records of 85 patients showed that respiratory symptoms may not appear for one week after infection. But when the situation turned bad, the respiratory system decreased rapidly, the average death time was 6.35 days, according to research from scientists from the US and China.

The team also noted that the characteristics they presented may not be true for patients with Covid-19 in different areas. Genetic factors, virus mutations can change the course of death of patients elsewhere.
